Joint tritium and carbon laboratory to be built in Shanghai

The Shanghai Institute of Quality Inspection and Technical Research (SQI), the Shanghai Institute of Applied Physics, the Chinese Academy of Sciences (SINAP) and the Romania Institute of Low Temperature and Isotope Technology signed a strategic cooperation agreement on May 29 to establish a joint laboratory for tritium and carbon in Shanghai.

Lu Min, the director of Shanghai Municipal Bureau of Quality and technical Supervision (SMBQTS), expressed his congratulations and hoped that the three parties will deepen partnerships in cultivating interdisciplinary talents and promoting international cooperation.

With the establishment of a joint laboratory, the three parties will cooperate in a number of fields, such as tritium carbon isotope measurement, separation and processing methods and standards and talent training.
