Labs in SQI host open day for local students in Shanghai
The Shanghai Institute of Quality Inspection and Technical Research (SQI) opened its laboratories for students on May 25 to welcome the Shanghai Science Festival.
More than 50 pupils from Xuhui district, Shanghai visited the labs of the Institute of Quality Inspection of Food and Cosmetics in SQI. Staff held a Q&A session with students, so that they could become more educated about issues surrounding food and quality inspection.
The open day was held with the aim of helping students learn more about science, in light of the increased interest in science in the city because of the Shanghai Science Festival.
Launched in 1991, the Shanghai Science Festival is held in the third week in May by the Shanghai government. It serves as a platform for innovation achievements and to spread scientific knowledge and raise awareness of science to the public.
