Shanghai Municipal Bureau of Quality Inspection and Technical Supervision (SMBQTS) held the latest event of its 2017 Shanghai Quality Campaign at the 300-year-old spectacles store Wuliangcai on Nanjing East Road on Oct 17.
Around 30 business leaders and local residents attended the event at Wuliangcai, where they got a chance to experience the renowned service offered by the famous glasses retailer.
The store, which was founded in 1719, was selected to host the event due to its renowned focus on quality and innovation, which has seen it introduce world-leading optical lens processing technology to help it stay ahead of the game.
The attendees inspected Wuliangcai's display cabinets that introduce the company's eyeglass development process, and also listened to a presentation about its optometry standards, which involves computer testing, darkroom inspections and correction, as well as its lens processing techniques.
Wuliangcai also provided the visitors with a free optometry service so they could experience the centuries-old store's quality service.
SMBQTS has now organized about 20 quality activities at different institute and communities, which have provided an effective platform for publicizing advanced quality management concepts, methods or experiences.
