Shanghai Zhenhua Heavy Industries displays quality practices
The 2017 Shanghai Quality Promotion Campaign of the Shanghai Municipal Bureau of Quality and Technical Supervision (SMBQTS) was launched recently and held its second lecture tour at the famous Shanghai Zhenhua Heavy Industries (ZPMC) Changxing Island plant on May 12.

ZPMC is a China Quality Award winner and has 26 ships, the capacity of which ranges from 60,000 DWT (dead weight tonnage) to 100,000 DWT. ZPMC is said to be China’s largest heavy equipment producer active in the international market.

Chen Jiaqing, assistant president of ZPMC gave a report on the organization’s achievements, strategies, prospects as well as its pioneering reform of “leave no work undone, no defects, no complaint letters or hotlines, no worriers or delays” before going offshore, which helped it earn the biggest share in the world market over 17 years and gained it a reputation in 88 countries and regions.
SMBQTS selected ZPMC as its second stop of the 2017 Shanghai Quality Promotion Campaign because of its great accomplishments in the intelligent sector and also for its impressive progress in quality performance, in particular the campaign of “leave no work undone, no defects, no complaint letters or hotlines, no worriers or delays” before going offshore,.
The company reacts to demands from global clients that ensure its products and projects are completed without any possible difficulty or trouble, in every sector ranging from quality, safety, funding, environment, and time limit while still considering design, procurement, manufacturing, assembling, delivery, and service.
With joint efforts from all departments and employees to develop a comprehensive and effective quality and safety supervision system, ZPMC grew more competitive in increasing profits while promoting its brand and the “Brand China” to the whole world.

The event was designed as a way to highlight institutions or enterprises that excel in quality performance while providing lectures and field study tours for delegates looking to learn more.
Through this, Shanghai hopes to encourage outstanding businesses and individuals to share their experiences and best practices, and arouse the city’s 16 districts to join in the campaign to produce high-quality products and services.
The first stop on the 2017 Shanghai Quality Promotion Campaign was at Shanghai Shentong Metro, a major metro service provider in Shanghai, emphasized its attempts to make full use of smart technologies to operate the metro system and improve services according to passenger demand, and next stops will be Yangpu Science and Technology Innovation (Group) Co Ltd.
