National secretariat to ratify measure device type set in Shanghai
SMBQTS was selected to establish a national secretariat team to evaluate measuring instruments during the fourth annual meeting of the National Metrology Technical Committee(AQSIQ / MTC1) held in Beijing on April 12.
MTC is an agency built with approval from the General Administration of Quality Supervision and Quarantine of the People’s Republic of China (AQSIQ), responsible for setting, revising, promoting, and implementing regulations and plans nationwide regarding metrology.
Xie Jun, head of the Metrology Department of AOSIQ, emphasized his requirement for the committee to develop a diversified metrology system integrating global and up-to-date perspectives. He urged the committee to improve the legislation for metrological management to provide technical support and platforms for the sector.
The meeting announced the establishment of three national teams to work on verification of measure instrument types, assessment of metrology technical standards and digital metrology respectively. And the secretariat of the measure instrument types working group was declared to settle down in the Shanghai Municipal Bureau of Quality and Technical Supervision (SMBQTS).
Afterwards, the SMBQTS arranged for members of the team to discuss in a meeting about the list of lawful measure instruments, the present situation of the sector, and solutions.
