SMBQTS strengthens quality supervision of 10 consumer items in 2016
The Shanghai Municipal Bureau of Quality and Technical Supervision (SMBQTS) will strengthen the quality management of 10 consumer items in 2016, in accordance with the guiding principles and policies on quality and technical supervision mapped out by China's 13th Five-Year Plan (2016-20).
The 10 consumer items are intelligent toilet seats, electric rice cookers, children’s clothing and diapers, smartphones, air cleaners, children’s toys, kitchen ware, bedclothes and furniture.
The plan stipulates that enhancing safety supervision of consumer goods should come first in 2016. Accordingly, SMBQTS needs to focus on safety levels for imported and exported goods of that type.
The 13th Five-Year Plan charts China's reform and growth path from 2016 to 2020.
SMBQTS is administered by the Shanghai Municipal Government. It is responsible for standardization, measurements, quality and special equipment safety supervision.
